Raised on the East Coast by first-generation immigrants, Daniel was taught early the value of education, hard work, and integrity. He graduated valedictorian of his public high school, then attended Yale University, majoring in philosophy, before entering medical school at the University of Pittsburgh.

He completed residency training in urologic surgery at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. After nearly fifteen years of higher education, Daniel began practicing as a surgeon — and found that a substantial salary was quickly consumed by taxes and living costs, alongside burnout in a system that prioritized metrics over patient care.

That experience pointed him toward tax-efficient, income-producing investments: real estate. He wrote about the journey on The Darwinian Doctor, documenting the growth of a personal multifamily portfolio worth more than $9 million across five states.
